Madeira Beach's Fall 2026 Calendar Is the First One That Feels Normal Again

Two years after Helene and Milton reshuffled every block from John's Pass to Redington, the fall calendar on Madeira Beach has quietly reassembled itself. Village Friday is back on a monthly cadence. The Seafood Festival is returning to its original October slot for its 45th year. The Wednesday Market is running on Madeira Way. And most of the operators locals actually eat at have their lights on.

If you already live here, the useful question is not what happened but how the six weeks between late August and early November stack up, and where the friction sits. This post is a working map.

The six-week window, at a glance

Three recurring events land inside a tight stretch, and one of them collides with itself on the same weekend. Reading the calendar in that order is how residents avoid the parking mess.

Village Friday and the Seafood Festival share the October 23 date. If you plan a normal Village Friday evening and forget the festival has already been going for nine hours by then, you will spend most of it looking for parking.

Village Friday is doing more work than it used to

The city has been anchoring the boardwalk's monthly rhythm around Village Friday at John's Pass Village & Boardwalk. It runs 6:00 to 9:00 PM with live music at the Bell Tower stage, and participating restaurants and shops stay open late with food and drink specials. The 2026 dates the city has published so far include January 30, February 27, March 27, April 17, May 29, August 21, and September 11, with the October 23 date folded into the Seafood Festival kickoff.

What is worth noticing is the gap. There is no Village Friday in June or July on the published schedule, which lines up with when the boardwalk is already overrun with vacation traffic and does not need a promoted evening. The event exists to give locals and shoulder-season visitors a reason to walk the Village on a night when they otherwise would not. The August 21 date is the first "resident night" after the tourist compression breaks, and it is the one to put on the fridge.

The February 27 lineup featured Blind Pass, and the March 27 lineup was FLO Raw. Fall lineups are announced closer to date on the John's Pass Village Friday Facebook page.

The 45th Seafood Festival, and what it takes to actually enjoy it

The John's Pass Seafood Festival returns for its 45th year, running October 23 to 25. This is the important detail: the festival returned to its original October timeframe after several years of schedule drift, which is why it now overlaps with Halloween programming rather than sitting in a quieter shoulder weekend.

Expect two music stages, hundreds of vendors, and Halloween-themed layers baked in. The city has confirmed a Friday-night kids trick-or-treat and a Saturday-night adult costume contest, and the visitor bureau has published the block party window as 6 to 9 PM Saturday, with cash prizes and no entry fee for the costume contest.

The friction is parking, and this is where residents have an edge over visitors if they read the logistics ahead of time:

• The John's Pass Village lot will be closed during the festival and used only for shuttle drop-off.
• Free shuttles run from Madeira Beach City Hall at 300 Municipal Dr. every festival day, and on Saturday and Sunday only, from Madeira Beach Fundamental School at 591 Tom Stuart Causeway.
• The Suncoast Beach Trolley runs from Clearwater Beach south to St. Pete Beach and back every 20 to 30 minutes, which is faster than driving in for anyone north of the Tom Stuart Causeway.
• If you are ordering a rideshare, use John's Pass Park, 12850 Gulf Lane, as the pickup address. The default map pin will send drivers into a wall of festival barricades.

A resident who lives within a mile of the Village should walk or bike in on Friday afternoon, eat once, leave, and come back Sunday for the calmer 10 AM to 6 PM window. Saturday is the day to skip unless you are committed to the costume contest.

The Wednesday Market is the part most residents underuse

Every Wednesday from 10 AM to 2 PM, Madeira Way hosts the Madeira Beach Wednesday Market. It is small, it is daytime, and it is the least advertised piece of the calendar. If your rhythm here is beach-then-boardwalk, you have probably never seen it. It is the closest thing Mad Beach has to a mid-week social layer for people who work from home or are retired, and it runs straight through the fall.

The other daytime anchor that residents tend to skip is the Trash Pirates of Madeira Beach community cleanup, which runs monthly from 8:00 to 10:00 AM at Archibald Memorial Beach Park on the first Saturday. September 5 is the fall one to circle. It is a two-hour commitment, it is family-friendly, and it is the kind of thing that quietly maps you into the neighbor network faster than any HOA meeting.

The post-storm operator map

The reason the calendar feels normal is that the operators behind it are actually back. This is the part of Madeira Beach that shifted the most between fall 2024 and now, and it is worth being specific about who is doing what.

On the boardwalk and around John's Pass Village, the reopened list includes Mario's for casual Italian, Mad Beach Cantina for Mexican, Hooters, Boardwalk Grill with grouper sandwiches and shrimp baskets, Delosas Pizza serving New York style slices at John's Pass, Angry Pepper for smoked BBQ, and Roll it Ice Cream. Sculley's Waterfront Restaurant sits in the John's Pass fishing village with fresh-catch seafood off the boat. Dockside Dave's runs a late-night kitchen until 2 AM.

The return of Caddy's is a useful marker. Caddy's Madeira Beach officially reopened on February 21 after being closed since the storms, and it has been a public signal that the operator group behind five Tampa Bay locations sees Mad Beach as worth the rebuild investment.

The single largest new addition is Don the Beachcomber, which debuted on the ground floor of the Cambria Hotel at 15015 Madeira Way. It is a 298-seat indoor-outdoor room operated by Tampa-based 23 Restaurant Services, which purchased the rights to Don the Beachcomber in 2022. The Madeira Beach location is the first of a planned 10 to 15 tiki-themed restaurants across the Southeastern United States over the next several years. Hours run Sunday through Wednesday from 11 AM to 11 PM and Thursday through Saturday until 1 AM, with valet parking and boat slips. Whether or not tiki is your thing, it means the Cambria block now has a late kitchen and a valet, which changes the walking pattern between the Village and Madeira Way after 10 PM.

How to actually use the six weeks

If you have lived on Madeira Beach for more than a season, most of this reads as small adjustments to a rhythm you already know. The useful move is to treat late August through early November as one continuous window rather than three separate weekends. Put the August 21 Village Friday, the September 5 cleanup, the September 11 Village Friday, and the October 23 to 25 festival on the same page of the calendar. Skip Saturday of the festival unless you are in for the costume contest. Walk in from home if you can. Use the City Hall shuttle if you cannot. And keep Wednesday morning open once in the fall for the Madeira Way market, because the version of Mad Beach that exists mid-week at 11 AM is the one most residents forget is here.
